Whether the gap is up or down, MTG Gap Trader is designed to allow robust testing of 'fading' (going the opposite direction) or 'following' (in the direction of) the opening gap.

Any Market

Test any market or security in which TradeStation® provides historical data.

Any Timeframe

You can test entering at any opening time.  For example, you can specify the gap trade to enter precisely at the open of the New York Stock Exchange (9:30 am ET), or 10 minutes prior, or 5 minutes after (or any interval before/after).  You can test to see which entry time is optimal based upon your criteria and objectives. 

Four Different "Built-In" Filters

Benefit from MasterTheGap's market experience and application development expertise, and with the click of a button, test tens of thousands of different combinations of the following criteria/filters:

• Gap Size (min and max)
  
• Seasonality (day of week, day of month, and month)
• Market Condition (above or below up to three moving averages simultaneously)
• Opening Zone (above the prior day high? below the lows? or any of MasterTheGap.com's 10 zone PLUS 2 of Scott's favorites: the Cowboy and Heat zones)

Custom Filters

MTG Gap Fader includes the ability to easily add unlimited custom filters.  Ever wonder how gap fades work after three successive higher daily closes? Or after a daily doji and 10 day high? With Gap Fader, you have the power at your fingertips to easily test just about any scenario you can imagine. Included with the application are 15-20 of Scott's favorite custom gap filters and a simple way to trigger them on/off.

Two Configurable Target Techniques

With a single click, you can specify your desired technique for calculating targets:

• % of Average True Range (ATR) - useful for setting targets, in front of, or beyond gap fill, during volatile markets (note: # of days for calculating ATR can be specified)
• % of Gap Size - great for testing and setting optimal targets based on the size of the gap. Especially useful for large gaps. What are the odds of today's gap filling 1/3 of the way? Stop guessing. Test and know.
  

Four Proven Stop Techniques

With a single click, you can specify your desired technique for calculating stops:

• % of Average True Range (ATR) -useful for setting volatility-adjusted stops. The more volatile the market, the bigger your stop and vice versa. (note: # of days for calculating ATR can be specified)
• % of Gap Size - great for testing and setting stops for large gap. Does today's large gap need a large stop or it is more likely to reverse and fill quickly? Stop guessing. Test and know.
  
• Time Stops - test and specify a time of day to exit the trade if neither your target or stop have been hit.
  
• Point Stops - test and specify a fixed point stop for all gap trades. You can also input minimum and maximum size point stops for easy position sizing calculations when using the "% of ATR" or "% of Gap Size" techniques.

Workspace & Indicators for TradeStation

To save you time and allow you to visually see the results of various Gap Fader tests, a pre-configured TradeStation workspace is included.

Personalized Training from "The Gap Guy"

The MTG Gap Trader application comes with five (5) hours of one-on-one training and follow-up support from Scott. The training can be conducted over 1-2 days (face-to-face) or via three or four 1-2 hour online sessions (depending upon your needs). Online sessions are recorded and made available within 24 - 48 hours.  Additional training and support is available for purchase from Scott as needed.

• MTG Gap Trader requires TradeStation® v8.8 or higher. 
• This program is for individual / non-professional traders. Contact Scott @ MasterTheGap.com if you are not sure or would like a quote on a professional or multi-user license.
• In order to control the proliferation of the code and provide the optimal training experience and support for each licensee, the number of Gap Trader licenses is strictly limited and managed, "first come, first served."
