I absolutely love your approach to the markets. It solves the problem of the failures of indicator based trading while still allowing back-testing. The successful day traders I know, stick to 70% or better trades. Unfortunately that number is seat of the pants, or at best, they get it from their trading records. That doesn't do me any good. Without a hard mathematical edge, I'm not sure I can succeed at this. Thanks Much, Jason

Scott, Been trading using your filters and a sprinkle of my discretion since 11/17. Since then there have been eight trade days I've faded the ES on recommended occasions per the morning advisory. Of those 6 filled or extended filled, one was a loser (yesterday's trade- a scratch for me) and one I closed out on 12/15 for a two tick bump on the plus side. As a side note, I did end up renewing my subscription today after trying to fade the gap myself. I tried to fade this morning's gap but without your guides I felt naked not knowing the odds. Scott, thanks for your great site. Thought you'd be interested: I sometimes fade the gap when you don’t (when the probabilities are high). I use the Gap Guides in June to go 8/8 and make about $11k trading 6-8 contracts. I use a a little bigger stop than you (7-8 pts in the ES) and never adjust the stops/targets. I’ve found it best to trade full size on all of my gap plays – even when you don’t. Keep up the great work. Regards, Dave

I think using your price guides in combination with my technical trading style that i learned from Linda Raschke is going to make for a very successful year..... Hi Scott, I just thought I'd drop you a message to let you know how the system has been working out for me thus far. Since I started my trial on 5/29, the performance has been as follows:
* 5 gap trading days, 11 gap trades (mostly SPY/DIA/QQQQ)
* 10 winners, 1 loser
* PF: 7.33
* R (Profit per dollars risked): 40%
Granted this is a small sample size, but thus far I think the system has proven itself to be very sound. The low R was initially troubling. But given that we're selecting trades with higher historical win % and PFs, the extra risk is justified. Thanks,Gregg

Just ordered historical data on the Russell today to do some testing when I get back. The information in the book "understanding Gaps" is tremendous, it goes way beyond anything I had ever heard or read on Gaps. The book is easy to read, and very informative. If you plan on trading Gaps, you should read this book!

Scott, instead of emailing you I thought you might appreciate a plug on your website. Even though I am not finished with your mentorship, I’ve already used the Gap Fader tool to make money. I back-tested the best size stop to use on one of my favorite stocks and risked 44 cents. It also told me to hold beyond the prior close for a bigger target. And that is what I did. Result: 67 cents of profit per share in one day, and best of all I was in and out in 10 minutes. THANK YOU!! I can’t wait to learn more.

I've been a member here now for about 3 months and have been very happy with this service. This method is great as a stand alone (with excellent results by the way) or to supplement your own gap entry method. Either way, the research on the site and Scott's record speak for themselves. They're both excellent!!! Otis rocks!!!

Last Sunday I was organizing all my notes since April 2008, every trade that I did, I took a note and explained why I took that setup, now I exactly know which ones are winners, and which ones are losers.

I won in most of the gap trades, I am taking the gaps when Scott recommended them and when his recommendations agree with my analysis... and since April, I only lost in two gap plays. Sometimes, when Scott recommended the gap play I did not take it, but every time that I followed his recommendations, and my analysis, I won, except for two trades.

Anyone planning SnP gap trades will find the nightly gap map and database to be very useful. Avoidance of BLUD trades is invaluable.

Gap Guy has created the best "opening gap" back tested system with comprehensive statistical data available... I have used his system and data to create my own gap system that has return amazing results. Cash in the BANK RESULTS!!! This system is so easy and profitable I reorganised my trading business plan to allocate 50% of trading funds to the Daily Gap...

Your backtesting-intensive approach to gap trading is the best I have seen. As someone who primarily trades equities, I have benefited greatly from your daily commmentary. Played the gap from the dentist office this morning, all from my treo, read the gap guy "today's Gap Play", entered my order with a target and a stop, had my teeth cleaned, then checked the results , +8.5 points on 2 contracts - best trip to the dentist ever! Thanks again.

One of the great value-added features of your site is that in some cases the target is well beyond a simple gap fill. On 1/9, the gap itself was small but your target was several points away. I took it and made 5.75 ES points where normally I would have skipped the trade. The trade also worked because of your advice about using a wide stop that day.
On 1/17, I made 7.25 again because your target was beyond the simple gap fill price.
You provide more than one way to win at this game--good job!
