Dear Scott, I can't thank you enough for your diligence, time, support, transparency, knowledge, and chat-based friendship. I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that you offer one of the very best, if not the best, trading membership services available. You are a wonderful family man and savvy trader. Feel free, if you are so inclined, to share any or all of my comments with my fellow traders in the room.
April 22, 2013 | Brian
Hi Scott, I've been a member of MTG since the beginning of the year and wanted to let you know that I really value the MTG service, your insights/comments/transparency, and group dynamics in the live trading room.
April 22, 2013 | Karin
Scott, I want to thank you very much for being who you are and doing what you do. While you say you are not perfect (none of us are), you are doing an excellent job of epitomizing one of your alma mater’s slogans, “Be All You Can Be.” I have no doubt you studied a lot of math, and you are a true engineer when it comes to performing a lot of the analyses you do in the trading room. I am amazed at how you can take your Gap Trader indicator and use it to predict the likelihood of price movements the way you do.
April 18, 2013 | Gary
Scott, Be warned - if I ever see you in an airport or a crowd or some place I'm gonna give you a great big hug :-D . Nah, I'll probably just introduce myself to you and shake your hand and offer to buy you a Jack Daniels, or a Porsche, or something... ;-)
Scott, Your work has really given me the starting point that I needed and was searching for. I was literally just thrashing around in the market, trying theory after theory, trying to come up with my approach, and not really getting anywhere, despite my engineering/numbers backgound. You've put me on the straight and narrow. Thank you, thank you, thank you! PS - And the trading room is awesome - great group of thinking heads there, really getting a ton of inspiration and info out of the chat.
April 15, 2013 | Lou
Hey Scott, I believe in your service 100% and think it is great.
April 12, 2013| Dan
Scott, Thanks for your refreshingly candid "Wrap" of 4/11. I just listened to it, and as a still-self-classified "newbie" to the markets and MTG, your candor is always music to my ears. No techie market-babble here, just straight talk from another grunt in the trenches of the market's virtrual war zone. Thanks again for what you do.

Scott- I will tell u, u r definately not a "chet thumpin................" guy. u r extremely talented & probably a great educator. I have been following u 4 sometime & u r very transparent. Even though I have not joined ur community, I appreciate what I have learned fr. u since following u & nonethess want 2 thank u.
April 8, 2013 | Karmel
Scott, Thank you for your EXCELLENT explanation. I didn't expect it, but as conscientious as you are, I guess I should have. Always makes me feel guilty for taking your time... Still loving your service and learning every day.
April 5, 2013 | Vaughn
thanks for everything, Scott. Your efforts in this room is allowing me to achieve my dreams. Thank you so very much!
April 4, 2013 | Matt
Hi Scott, Appreciate the response. I think you are one of the few honest guys in this corrupted world of wall street.
March 25, 2013 | Steve
Thanks, Scott. I'd like to thank MTG for turning my trading around. This is shaping up to be my 6th month in a row where I'm making good gains (avg. XXX so far). Before MTG winning months were a rarity! The secret for me is that the whole statistical approach really suits me and my engineering background. It's natural to me that this technique will work in the long run.
March 19. 2013 | Mike
I am really happy that I found your website. I have always watched the gap trade but really haven't been able to figure it out on my own so this is a great site I appreciate all of your work.
March 6, 2013 | Gary
I have been trading for over 25 years and am a member of the CME(I have an IOM). Your service is one of the best I have ever seen or used.
March 5, 2013 | Richard
Hi Scott, I have been a fan of your probability based trading style for quite some time and eagerly await the daily wrap every day. I was at the webinar Saturday and sung your praises. Nice presentation by the way.
March 5, 2013 | Joe
Scott, I want to thank you sincerely. I found your Web Site and I love it. Your advice has helped me become a much better Trader. Seriously, you have helped me tremendously !!! I really appreciate it. I'm going to order your book right away. Thank you very much !!!

Hi Scott, I understand... I have been a member for a long time but I think it is just all starting to come together regarding how much knowledge, both systematic and discretionary, you have offered your members over the years. It is really quite amazing and I am thankful to be a member. Thanks for all your efforts and hard work for your members Scott.
February 27, 2013 | John
Hi Scott, I read your book yesterday. Very informative and I admire people who have the patience and commitment to develop a system like that. I also had a look around your website and started the Premium Package trial.
February 26, 2013 | Kathryn
Hi Scott, I have the Van Tharps new book right in front of me (received today).... Looks good. I did a quick check for a mention of you, but didn't see one. If you're not, maybe you should be, you're one of the few who "gets it"...
February 26, 2013 | Robert
Scott I know the education side of trading can be full of land mines. I have a friend who runs a service. You are the best I've ever seen. You have a gift.
February 25, 2013 | McV
Scott, just a note of thanks for the leadership you provide us. I enjoy the candor and honesty that you use to give us insights.
Feburary 24, 2013 | Wayne
Hi Scott. I just wanted you send to you an email and tell you how much I love the service that MTG provides. I don't have years of experience trading. Actually, a little less than two. I started as a discretionary trader (although I didn't know there was any other style) and decided within a few months that it wasn't for me. I stumbled upon the MTG site and everything clicked. Not that I magically became an expert trader but I finally had a framework to work within. I was able to create a trading plan based on the gap and range guides that fit me. Trading on the side of history gives me confidence. That is a huge advantage that would likely take years to develop as a discretionary trader.
I have watched literally hundreds of wrap videos (10/day for the 1st 3 months), each of Tim's videos multiple times, and watch every calendar event more than once. I spend hours every day learning and getting better. Without MTG I would likely still be looking for that perfect system. Thanks to MTG I know that it doesn't exist. MTG taught me to act like a casino not a gambler.
I started trading with cash on 9/1/12. This turned out to be a blessing because it created absolute conviction that probability trading was for me. I haven't had a down month since. However, when it does happen I'll have the proper mindset.
Thanks again for giving me the tools to be a consistently successful trader.
February 22, 2013 | Chris
Hi Tim, Thank you for proactively reaching out and thank you once again for your fabulous service! Over the past nine months or so, I have tried several different models, trading methods, and trading rooms. MasterTheGap is somuch superior than anything else I have seen or tried. ...I think I'vefound my permanent "trading home"! Not only do I feel that I am gettingso much value from the data, but your and Scott's honesty and care reallycomes across in the trading room. Thank you.
February 14, 2013 | Karin
Tim, Scott, Whomever, Hello guys I love service and wanted to thank you! I believe it truly gives a fantastic edge on the markets and is quite easy to manage.

Scott, thanks to you and MTG, my first month EVER with a profit! And I can't wait until I understand all this stuff and KNOW what I'm doing! I'm definitely into MTG for the long haul. Where can I get the MTG bumper sticker?

Hi Scott, great webinar today, happy you remembered me! As I told you earlier, I think you guys are the real deal, you approach trading very intelligently, and you do high quality work. So, you have nothing but my respect and admiration.
January 29, 2013 | Robert
Scott- Love your stuff man. I have watched your videos for quite sometime and am looking to join your group!
January 28, 2013 | Eric
Hello Scott, I heard you do a presentation in another room last year. I had directly asked you about your trading performance. You replied without hesitation, thereby gaining my immediate respect. Most trading room operators avoid answering.
I just read your Annual Wrap for last year. It is completely in line with your previously claim. Your are, without a doubt, one of the most honest people in this business. Thank you for your daily updates. Best wishes for 2013.
January 18, 2013 | Sal
Thanks Scott. I am not a member, but have followed your gap wrap for a long time. I am impressed not only with your success, but also with your honesty. It is rare in this industry.
January 7, 2013 | Steve
I just wanted to say thank you and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. This has been a wonderful trading year for me. Your knowledge and site have helped me become more focused, more disciplined and more accountable for my actions. I primarily trade SPY options and use chart patterns in conjunction with your site and my return this year is ... This would not have been possible without you. Thank you very much. Diane

I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to encounter an honest statistical approach to the markets. I shall be remaining a member of Master the Gap for the forseeable future.

I've spent nearly an hour catching on the chat history today. Loaded with excellent, EXCELLENT exchanges about overcoming individual trading challenges, risk mgt, etc. Really hit a chord with me because I'm up against the identical stubborn obstacles. It's one of the many things that make this room so great. Real folks, real life, no bs and real substance
November 28, 2012 | Toby
This Thanksgiving season, I'd be remiss if I didn't say how much I appreciate this chat room, Scott, and my fellow gappers - what a blessing this room has been for me going on 4 years
November 28, 2012 | Matt
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much for putting together the TGP worksheet and getting it to us the night before. I'm looking forward to having the time to absorb your insights without having to make a decision within minutes. Though I may have been the most persistent advocate for this change, it appears from today's webinar that a lot of members are excited about the innovation.
November 27, 2012 | Michael
Gentlemen, Awesome, awesome, awesome job on the new reports. Super value! Thanks as always for your service!!
November 27, 2012 | John
Scott I would not be where i am today as a trader with out you guys. Thank you so much for what you provide to us on a daily basis. Enjoy your Thanksgiving and know that you make a difference in others lives in a good way!!
November 21, 2012 | Mike
One of the reasons I am a comfortable member of the room is that members are courteous to each other. I'm at the stage of life where there is not enough money in the world to put up with inappropriate behavior by anyone in the room. The MTG room has had an adult atmosphere with many very smart people sharing their ideas. Courtesy does not exist in other rooms I've witnessed.
November 17, 2012 | Hal
It's been a pleasure trading with you guys. I will definately be a monthly member now. I love live trading with you, scott, and the other chatroom members.
November 13, 2012 | Ted
The video set of “Profit from the Opening Gap” and “The Opening Gap” was excellent. Detailed but clearly explained. It’s a lot to take in, so I am going to re-listen to it a 2nd time.
November 8, 2012 | Barbara
not to pile on to a great winning trade...but I have been trading for a long time and the gap gotcha i only KNOW BECAUSE OF YOUR GREAT ROOM, and it is the top 3 trades of all time...really amazing trade Scott
November 7, 2012 | John
Humor me for minute, thought you would like to hear 2 success stories over the past 24 hours since completing the training... And while I was typing this email I got filled on this morning's gap fill, I had good numbers on gap fill backtesting and you confirmed this am with gap play so I took it for a nice win. I am not bragging but appreciative.
November 2, 2012 | JP
Great Presentation! I really enjoy your approach to trading.

I do enormously enjoy my MTG membership thanks to you and Scott, and regularly use ideas gained listening to you.
October 11, 2012 | Peter
Scott and Tim with MasterTheGap are absolutely first-rate, and I'm completely thrilled to have found them and been working with them for nearly two years.
September 25, 2012 | Scott G
I want to say that of all the set up services out there I believe MtG is the most transparent and best to actually use in live trading. So I am a big fan of MtG.
September 12, 2012 | Niels
Since I've been a room member for over a year and have decided you guys (and the very bright room membership) are the real deal, I'm ramping up to 'power tune' my risk management, trading plan and to correct a lot of bad habits. Also, to dive into easy language and maybe develop a few automated strategies. Before I could make a big commitment like this, it was vital to develop confidence in the source. Obviously, trading education is a very slippery slope, but I'm putting my $ where my mouth is with this effort and I think the investment shortcuts the learning time tremendously and saves much higher "tuition" costs extracted by losses in the market. In hindsight, my year in the room was like backtesting the source. I like the RR on this one!
September 5, 2012 | Toby
Since I started the subscription Im ...on small gap trades. As I mentioned before this style is supplemental/incremental to my other trades so thank you again very much. The subscription so far has paid for itself many times over.
August 31, 2012 | Pete
Finished 4 years of Scott's service today. Been consistant .... year over year. THANKS, Scott and team!!!

August 23, 2012 | Harpreet
thanks for everything you do with your service...I think it is amazing
August 23, 2012 | John
An interesting phenomena------Ever since I renewed my membership in January I've had a phenomenal year. Perhaps it would have happened anyway, I'm not sure, because I am trading my own system. I know I feel more calm in a losing trade when I know you are in it too and perhaps that extra calmness is giving me enough of an added edge to make a difference. Anyway, I'm loving' it.
August 17, 2012 | Linda
FYI. I normally wouldnt trade these small gaps as they just were not big enough, in my prior thinking, until I started the subscription. Your extensive backtesting convinced me to give it a try. So far doing well using the FAS or FAZ ETFs, which generally correlate with the SPY.
August 16, 2012 | Pete
Scott Andrews! Just had to wish you a Happy Birthday! You are a person worth celebrating! So glad you are walking the face of our planet. Since knowing of you, Master the Gap has made our lives better and my husband ScottG happier than I have ever seen him professionally, market conditions not withstanding!
Enjoy a wonderful celebration with your house full of princesses! I continue to enjoy the stories of Mary Austin!
August 14, 2012 | Melissa
Without doubt the best trading educator in the industry, in my view. You will not find a more detailed meticulous and consistent approach to a trading strategy anywhere. Add to this Scotts open down to earth honest delivery of his experience and expertise and you have the complete package for any trader looking for that extra edge (which you should be)! Lastly Scott is plain and simple the best trader I've ever had the pleasure to meet and see trade live (professionally or in my own private trading quest). Given Scotts modestly I'm sure this last point is going to be met be totally denied....apologies for any embarrassment Scott!!!
July 27, 2012 | Adrian
Hey Scott...... just wanted to say thanks for sharing your thoughts regarding your bad trade decisions last night on the HB/gotcha. I try to hold my feet to the fire when I make bad decisions and have been working hard to minimize mistakes....especially the mindless ones. So your reinforcement of that work ethic and concept is very helpful and I appreciate your honesty, as do others I'm sure.......
July 27, 2012 | Aarin
Scott, Just wanted to pass on my thanks for the candlestick research. For me, it "filled a gap" I was having with your guides. I have never gotten comfortable that 10 years of experience can't be trumped by a strong current even. Take Tiger Woods and a five foot put. Historical probabilities will show he is probably 98% in the money, but not during his bad times and even today it's probably worse. But the candlestick brings it together for me. When the guides are supported but the candlestick, it makes a stronger case. That's why I was more comfortable today making and winning the trade. All the best and thanks for all you do for us. Cheers
July 24, 2012 | Wayne
Hi scott, I want to thank you for all of the free education you give. I really feel you are different than a lot of the other people in the trading industry. You really need to watch out for all the crooked people and systems! I appreciate your integrity.
July 23, 2012 | Diane
Scott / Tim, Thought I would drop you a note with my stats for ES gap trading Q2. Below numbers are using my stops & targets which are different than MTG. These trades represent my 'core' ES gap zone trades and do not represent my partial size trades for the ES 'periphary' zones. I may look to eliminate the 'periphary' zones (end Q4?) as I'm finding that they may not be worth my time or mental / physical capital. I will be watching carefully for the inevitable pullback given a very good Q2. All the best,
July 23, 2012 | Ryan (MTG Gap Fader user)
Scott,Thought you might be interested in my results from the first half of this year. My primary trading vehicle is the DIA (don't trade futures) and using a double qualifying criteria of 1.3 and .65% for both the futures and ETF's I have had ... this year. I also filter out all gaps of less than .10 and more than .55. Really appreciate all of your hard work and attention to detail.
July 16, 2012 | Jay
Thank You Scott! Your videos are part of my daily plan! When I was in the room, I started looking at prior gaps. I look at the prior gap in relation to today’s gap every day. I think especially with a gap like a U-L that has a pretty significant downside bias, The fact the following day was a U gap indicates there was perhaps some underlying bullish sentiment and thus risk to fading an up gap. Still the overall numbers were so strong.
The gap and prior gap together actually give you a lot of information. I would still be in the room if my current job allowed, as my time there improved me as a trader. So again thank you!
July 15, 2012 | Skip
Hi Scott and Tim, I don’t know if you have had the same results of seven wins in a row since the 6th of June in the First Hour Set up. I have to recognize that I am setting this trades almost mechanically only when the odds are very clear, before I was tweaking a lot and getting in not so clear set-ups. Regards
July 8, 2012 | Alfredo
Scott, Got the /tf gap fill this morning thanks for your help I am really enjoying the MTG service.

Hi Scott, Just a quick note to tell you how much I appreciated last night's Gap Wrap. Your willingness to be vulnerable by openly sharing the day's trading mistakes and frustrations is not just refreshing, it's special, and I think that it truly sets you apart from others in this field. When a 10-year pro says, "I broke my trading plan today. I made a command decision (because of over confidence) to double my position size... and of course I got what I deserved... I got stopped out." it makes everything else you say and do that much more credible... especially considering that you weren't even in the Trading Room yesterday. I think many people would not have been willing to share those kinds of details --but you did. And here's the thing: In sharing your mistakes, you set a tone for all of your members that says, "We're in this together. It's OK to make mistakes but let's try to learn from them individually --and together, and become better traders as a group going forward." That's leading by example and it's what sets true leaders apart.
It is my hope that all of your members will learn to openly and honestly share their trading experience with each other. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. We'll all be better for it.
May 11, 2012 | Scott
Scott I thought you might be interested in a brief summary of my trading history and time at MTG. I started trading mid 2007 and lost money 16 months straight. 2008 and 2009 were also losing years but while I learnt the ropes I bet with smallest stakes my broker allowed.
In March 2010 I joined the trading room at MTG, it took me some time to figure out how I was going to integrate the guides with my own signals and I ended 2010 with another losing year albeit I was only down 3% in my gap trading account.
I started 2011 with another drawdown but this time I quickly made the money back and by the Summer my gap account was at break even. In July 2011 I added some new filters and tweaks to my gap trading plan and my results immediately improved. I didn't have a losing month for the rest of the year and my gap account closed up ... for my first ever profitable year.
Ultimately I settled on using the guides and your own trade decisions to help me with bet sizing as a complement to my own trading signals. Apart from the wealth of data and constant flow of new ideas at MTG , watching your own trade management and the way you handle losing streaks has been priceless and has helped me instil the necessary discipline into my trading. Tim has also been a great help with his ruthless discipline and adherence to "the plan" .
It has been a long and difficult learning process , but as the winning weeks and months stack up I believe my trading has turned the corner and I wanted to let you know of my success and the part MTG has played.

Scott Andrews is one of the smartest and most generous stock market educators I have ever met. His website, Master the Gap, provides a wealth of knowledge for short – term traders with a focus on opening gap trading.
April 25, 2012 | Marc chaikin (creator of Chaikin Moneyflow, Chaikin Oscillator and Chaikin Power Tools)
Scott, I feel that I am not only paying for the MTG daily probability driven recommendations, but for your wisdom, knowledge and experience. You identify trades that are not directly found by the computer. The key is not the trade that you enter but that you explain the rationale for your decision.. I then have the choice to follow or stand aside. The recommendation is yours but the decision is mine. As our friend Hal says "one should consider the check written once the trade is made" An important factor is to see whose signature is on the check --- it is mine.
Blackbox systems offer me no value to learn or to trade with more confidence. While I am not active in the room because of travel and other priorities, I always look forward to your wrap and morning discussion.
April 24, 2012 | Burt
Terrific job with your service...I'm a harden Wall Streeter and I've seen it all on this side of the street and you are doing a terrific job with some original work and discipline of implementation.

Just finished my first month in MTG and the Trading Room. Things learned so far:
- Trading room has others in it who are as I am! Finally! Others (even someone) who understand why I want to do this and offer some electronic companionship and humor. The corn puns this week were good ones. - Learned from your counsel to miss the losers and catch the winners. I did “modify” some of your entry and target suggestions since I’m a newbie and still learning...I wanted to build my psychological capital also. - Learned that in missing those losers, I missed winners but I traded a whole lot less and had more fun. Trading less allowed me to focus on the few I did make instead of flitting from flower to flower. - I hope every month is this good! I traded less than you did! (I heard you once say that some people leave MTG because you are too “conservative.” That must make me, at least this month, “radically conservative.” - I think I’m going fishing tomorrow, so this is feedback on probably my last trading day of March.
Thanks for letting follow along over the past year with “The Wrap” so I could gain knowledge and understanding of MTG workings. I look forward to continuing.

Dear Scott, Excellent idea to create the 15 minute guides, and it clearly added highly valuable info for the SPY fade today.

Scott, I have only been a member since December and really love the program.

Hey Scott, Hope you're doing well. It's so great to wake up out here in California to your great commentary every morning. Don't know how I could face the day without it! I continue to love the gap and am grateful for all you've taught me over the last 3 or 4 years.
I actually struggle a lot with what you were saying about trading vs. leadership/contributing/legacy (the West Point officer at that wedding writing you off because you are a trader etc.) - and whether I should be a musician more and trader less, what my motives are etc... Really appreciate your honesty and the sorts of issues you somehow are able to bring up in the course of a regular day's work - it's a gift. Best regards
March 19, 2012 | Rick
Thank you for sending this over Scott. I am very intrigued with your process. I am a huge believer in removing the biases of our human decision making and letting the probabilities and backtesting tools tell me where/when to make my trading decisions. I know that behavioral/psychological issues are especially strong when it comes to money management & trading. Its so hard to let fear or greed not get in the way of the human mind when it comes to markets/money. I definitely think you are on to something and have a great system and company you have been building to be proud of.
March 15, 2012 | David A

Hi Scott, I’m a member of MTG and have been for about eight months and I’m really happy with the way my trading is going so thanks for providing such a great product.
March 1, 2012 | Adam
Tim, I hit 4 home runs today. Probably a little aggressive on my part, but my signals were there and I just went with them... I took the gap trade and Range Trader showed that the low fade was a good pick and secondarily, the high fade was also. I took the low fade for most of the move and got a piece of the high fade and then about half of the 1st hour HBO... Anyway - just wanted to say thanks. February 23, 2012 | Jeff
I have learned a great deal from Scott and Master the Gap. I have learned to be much calmer about trading; I am learning to quit early in the day and live my life; I have learned how to range trade (based on support and resistance lines) with defined target and loss and I often allow it to do its thing afterwards (that made me a heck of a lot calmer, I can tell you).
February 13, 2012 | Richard
Dear Scott-- Thank you for offering the bootcamp. It's been an invaluable learning experience for me. I highly recommend that you consider doing this at least once a year to initiate new members. Also, paying attention to you and Tim, as well as the other members of MTG, in the trading room has added significantly to my understanding of trading. You both transmitted a lot of information and insights in this context which doesn't seem to be available elsewhere on the MTG site. However, for me and my personality, one of the biggest attractions of your approach is that it I can set up one or two trades (Fade the gap and/or First Hour range) first thing in the morning, and let the probabilities play themselves out as they will without my having to monitor the trade. I'm not about to try my hand at any discretionary intra-day trades at this point, nor do I want to be following the market's action throughout the day.
February 9, 2012 | Michael
I think you are a good man charlie brown and the fact that you want 100% of your contacts to be successful is just one of the indicators i've seen.

Hi, I'm in the trial period and no doubt will stay with your service.... excellent approach/style of trading that is a perfect fit for me and one I prefer to employ.
February 5, 2012 | Brian
Scott, Thanks, in large part to what I learned from you, in January my stock and futures trades results were [great]....
February 1, 2012 | Steve
I have thoroughly enjoyed the room and it has completely changed me as a trader. I discovered your room at exactly the right time for me. Truth is had I found your room 2 years ago I don’t think I would have understood it or been able to comprehend it enough. The last 6 months have been truly transformative!

Hi Scott, I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciate you and Master The Gap. 2011 was a great year of trading for me, and it simply would not have been possible to achieve the success/results that I had without the Gap Guides and your additional analysis each morning which I use to help me determine position size.
I've recently opened a supplemental trading account with TradeStation so that I can begin to familiarize myself with their platform and I hope to get signed up with you for a Gap Fader Mentorship sometime later this year. It probably won't surprise you to learn that I am somewhat detail oriented (I'm guessing that many of your members are...) and I'm really looking forward to being able to run my own pattern-specific analyses each day.I'm really looking forward to a great 2012 with you and Master The Gap! Many thanks again for all you do,
January 28, 2012 | Scott
Hi Scott, thanks for this website and all the research you have provided! I cannot express how much this has helped me! :-)
January 19, 2012 | Karen
Scott, We appreciate what you are doing at MTG and it is core to our trading business. Thank you
January 10, 2012 | Stephen
Scott and Tim, I sat down today and compiled my 2011 trading numbers; I was pleasantly surprised and I thank you for the results. Last year, 2011, represents my first, full calendar year of trading, I took a couple of courses with Online Trading Academy in 2010 and, after suffering a couple of thousand dollars in losses, quickly figured out that I don't know what I'm doing. Its much like a 16 year old with a new drivers license, full of enthusiasm and very deadly. I signed on Master the Gap in January and I was blown away when I went back and did my accounting for the year.
For MTG Gap and FHG trades, 109 total trades, I had a... win rate and a profit factor. Keep in mind that I'm still "riding with training wheels on" and trading very small sizes, 75 to 150 shares of SPY. More than once I read in my log, "execution error, moved stops, 'chickened out' or did not follow plan" so I feel like it could have been a better year without some of the self-inflicted damage. I coupled the MTG guides with some of the trading savvy I picked up in the room for some swing trades and overall I had a win rate of and profit factor of ...
An entry in my log made three different times last year was "confidence loss." You may not realize it but being able to sit at the elbow of a very experienced and methodical trader does more to inspire positive performance than you can imagine.
An essential for me is learning how to trade correctly--the big pay days will come once I get a strong trading plan. I couldn't have gotten positive results and win rates in 2011 without your help, teaching and encouragement.

Hi Guys, A belated happy new year to one and all. Sorry I missed your survey but as the subject line suggests, especially with your 'holiday/sabatical' policy, you can count me as 100% satisfied..For what its worth, I fully expect to re-up when my current subscription ends. January 6, 2012 | Peter
Out of your many demonstrations of discipline the one I most admire, Scott, is the way you carve out forcefields of stone around your family life and time, and your attention to husbandry and fatherhood. Good luck, thanks always.
January 5, 2012 | Daniel
Scott: I find much value in your services. Does that mean that I think you walk on water? Of course not. On the other hand, you have absolutely never implied that you think you do either. Your guides are very important to me. Your pre-market decisions and comments and those of Tim are important to my decision making process. I have learned that, even in scalping the open, if you and Tim choose not to fade the opening ES gap, I should give this much consideration to your judgement when deciding to fade the ES, TF and/or NQ.
January 4, 2012| Steve
Scott, Tim and crew, I wanted to especially thank you for the valuable service that you provide. My account is ... since I started in July! Have a great Holiday.

Hey Scott, It's really a shame you had to lose money because we both know what a smart guy you really are....But...everything lousy always has a good side, and the way you shine as a person, and being real and taking your lumps with honor and humor, AND caring enough to turn it into a learning experience for your members....that's why I really like you!
December 14, 2011 | Leigh
Hi Scott, I want to acknowledge you for your honesty in reporting your trading results. You have empowered me to be comfortable with my losses and not be embarrassed about them and shove them under the rug. This allows me to be very honest about my returns and thus puts me a position to honestly analyze my techniques and make me into truly a better trader. Without being able to watch you I feel I long ago would have given up and felt my losses were not normal, something to be embarrassed about, and only indicated that I had no business being a trader.
I know losses are no fun and today especially wasn't, but your losses and your honesty reporting them and your attitude have inspired me to feel the same way about losses and that, my friend, has made all the difference in the world. Thanks so much.

Hey Scott, I have been trading for over 5 years and have been lucky enough to find Master The Gap recently. Upon joining the room it became immediately obvious that my current trading plan was woefully under powered. I thought my rules were well defined, but when comparing them to the Gap Guy and indeed other members, they were not. The first few days were a real eye opener and I have since improved my plans, rules and testing dramatically. I thank Master the Gap and my fellow members for that.

Scott, Nothing like what I expected and everything I could have hoped for. That's what your trading room reminds me of. I thought it would be all traders discussing things way beyond my comprehension but what I got was enough business to make it worth the price of admission, enough socializing to make it enjoyable. Everything you do in that room makes it work -- think of it as a musician who's making music for himself and happens to find an audience.
December 8, 2011 | Jerry
Scott, much thanks for that regular Daily Wrap. It’s very valuable. It’s become the closing event of a Market Day for me. Much like watchingGame Film after a football game, it really helps to be run through the day, recalling the various inflection points.

I have been trading for three years and have been in several trading rooms. It seemed the trading room trader made money 90% of the time and for some reason I couldn't. After a few months I lost respect for the trader and moved on. I've been with MTG since May 2010 and believe that Scott and Tim have great integrity and I have made money using MTG and that's why I'm still here. I also enjoy the range of trading experience and personalities in this room. I learn a lot from everyone here and appreciate the help my fellow traders are willing to share.
October 19, 2011 | David
Tim, After only a couple of days of absorbing your information, I already feel like I have a much better idea of where to go when the market opens.
I think it is the difference between probability and discretionary trading, a concept that I didn’t understand until reviewing your videos. The other sites offer discretionary advice, i.e. X often happens when Y occurs, but they don’t offer much beyond that and it seems like Master the Gap does.
October 17, 2011 | Charlie
Scott, I find your service to be the best in the business (I subscribe to dozens of other services and spend thousands a year - Gartman, Bianco, etc.) . I remain a huge fan of your excellent service.
October 15, 2011 | Jay
i don't think i could be more impressed. i have read all your blogs, listened to almost all the coach corners , downloaded all that i could. i have for the last year 'started' my own probability analysis of some general rules of thumb that i finally considered after gaining respect for a fellow that trades live on tos. as you know from your experience, i have spent hundreds of hours gathering data and analyzing for similar occurances and was about to jump in and trade 'my probabilities' but for some reason ( probably fear of not having turned over every leaf ) i decided to look at some of your 438 emails i have collected while i was gathering my data and losing money because of my impulsiveness. i am so glad i did. i am ready to join your church, which has only occurred once or twice in my life. i haven't meet many people in my life that i felt were trying to help others more than themselves but you might be one of them. thanks

Finding MTG in the beginning stages of trading IMHO is invaluable. I wish i had stumbled upon them back when i started but i don't think they had been "born" at that time.
October 12, 2011 | PD
I succeeded the first year, broke even the 2nd year, got my headed handed to me the third year. Found MTG at the beginning of year 4. You've described my experience perfectly. I've dug myself a huge hole but think I can climb my way out of it now because I'll no longer approach trading haphardly as I have in the past. MTG has not only made me aware of the value of having a plan but they've given me a framework for one.

Tim, I have enjoyed my trial subscription to master the gap and will continue as a regular subscriber. Based on your videos and other resources on your site, I have now developed a set of rules for my trading the gap and the first hour. It’s a great site with a superb concept based on probabilities which I thoroughly appreciate. Best regards,

Hi Scott, It has been a little while, I just wanted to touch base and let you know how things are going. Well, first off I should say that I make my living by trading the gap, and I love it. Some days are a little iffy, but my rules deifnitely make me a better trader combined with your analysis. Honestly, I've been looking at people that want to exchange their views in order to make profits, and you are the only one that actually calls your trades, takes your losses, and actually likes it. Here is to many more yeras of awesome knowledge exchange!

I can't thank you enough for all that you do (have done) to help me (and many others) learn to trade successfully. Please know that what you are doing truly matters. I look forward to meeting you in person someday. All the best,

I wanted to just share that my trading acccount broke ... gross profits last week...still up there after this loser too. i had a great run this past month and i was only able to take advantage of it, b/c of the PLAN I made with Tim

P.S. Your services are awesome. I've been a member since last fall and have finally gotten comfortable with my trading plan using MTG and have been doing very well since May. Thank you!

I know you hear it a lot, but your room really has revolutionized trading for me. As Edge says, "these guys are the real deal". Thanks.

There are only few honest people believe it or not in this educational business Scott, and I have always considered you one of the best....It's clear you like people, enjoy life, and frankly what ever you did for a living you would do the same way...honestly and fairly....I know people...So for what it's worth, you should be proud of the way you run your company. Most of the company owners or employees send ridiculous claims that no one believes and pretty much appeal to people's most base instincts...and that makes this business often very distasteful.
September 16, 2011 | Leigh
Scott, I enjoyed watching your webinar this evening. I watch the daily videos by email and have seen several the evening webinars. I've been studing and trading for about a year and a half. I fit into the category of a discretionary trader, and it's not working. My goal is to become a full time trader, and your method looks like the best I've seen.
September 14, 2011 | Darrell
Hey Scott, you deserve the nice words. I’ve worked with too many folks who claim they know the answer only to end up with a production outage (think databases, systems and data centers) when they were wrong. You have an excellent balance between what you know and what you don’t, which really helps a “newbie” like me to make better decisions as to when to jump in or not.
September 14, 2011 | Tom
Chris, Again, sorry for the mix up on this. Thanks for your patience! There are many subscription services out there, but MTG is hands down the best thing I have ever come across. Period. The data and research is real and honest, and when you know how to use it, it's empowering.
September 14, 2011 | Mike
Hi - Sorry, I was on vacation and came too close to my credit limit on this card. I paid it yesterday but it's not still not registered. I am making money using the service so don't want to miss a day!

I'm starting my 3rd month in this room. Never expected to be here this long, but so impressed with what Scott has created and the caliber of traders and participation here that I'm overhauling my entire trading life. It'll be another month before I'll have any meaningful input, but I want to tell you guys, I've never come across a room like this. You are a truly unique, tight and smart group of traders.

I hope others appreciate the clarity and quality of your processes.

So far I'm encouraged by what I've seen and learned. I think I can make a "Gap-based" plan work, and it fits my style (unlike other plans I've tried). Which means I may be able to retire before I'm 70! Woohoo! Thanks for what you're doing here!
August 31, 2011 | David
Dear Scott--You asked for feedback from your most recent webinar. I tend to take such requests seriously, and when I sense sincerity in the requester, I am willing to offer feedback.
VERY POSITIVE FEEDBACK: 1) You come across as genuine, unassuming, realistic, conscientious, hard-working. 2) The impression is that you have worked hard to create the system you utilize and share; you have consumed countless hours gathering data, analyzing trends, trading gaps, etc. You are willing to share that labor for a reasonable price. 3) Your knowledge and system are impressive. I am a long-time investor, I have seen countless systems advertised (pushed). So my impression may seem more significant than that from someone less experienced.
August 25, 2011 | Petty
Hey Scott, I watched you this morning on the TS market briefing. You are very good. What you said was very good--big gap, ignore the news, filled and ET. I didn't take the trade. It was against my rules and I'm o.k. with that, but I just want you to know I think you are good! I'm getting together with Tim in the future and will be coming back in about a month or so. Thanks for your education, I've learned lots from you!
August 25, 2011 | diane
Scott, August is turning out to be a VERY good MTG month for me. I am near scratch on FH trades, but up big on gap fades and gap gotcha trades. Thanks for the fine data service and the education that comes with it!
August 15, 2011 | Bill
I am new to both MTG and TradeStation. Quite happy with your service – have been trading for 10+ years but have done it either with discretion or mechanically – your hydrid methodology is a paradigm shift of sorts for me. Keep up the good job!
August 12, 2011 | Rob
I enjoyed the trial a lot. I found your honesty in the live trading room to be refreshing. I also found the notes and opinion of the traders in the room to be very helpful. The idea of being in a room that has a spectrum of beginners to experienced traders is intriguing to me. I will probably be back for your service when the timing is better in my life.
August 3, 2011 | Ken
I appreciate your time and ALL your effort to help those around you. take care.

Hey Scott, I’ve really been enjoying your trading room. It’s been educational and I’m making more than I’m losing. That’s a big improvement over where I was. BTW – I think your comments are great (I don’t think they’re negative) and I use them to help decide whether to take a position (and whether I should aim for a partial fill). I’m a techie (computer guy) so all this is new to me. You’re a great teacher and market technician! Thanks again for "Master The Gap" - its been great for me!
July 19, 2011 | Tom
Scott,Late in the day, I followed you into the last trade where I felt your reasoning was sound and made back a large portion of my losses. That was a great call where your market experience came to bear in very volatile market conditions.Thank you, well worth the price of admission!

Scott and Tim, so far things are going great. I am really happy with MTG and the results.
June 22, 2011 | Joe
Hi Scott, I recall when I signed up for the Gap Guide service several weeks ago. At the time, things were pretty tough, as I was unemployed for 2 years. Hard to believe, when you have 20+ yrs of experience and graduated Cum Laude in EE. But, it looks like the tide has finally turned, as I landed a pretty solid Engineering Program Management position today, and to top it all off, my trading skills have improved DRAMATICALLY since I joined MTG. After going through all of my past day trading work/research, I combined that past effort with what I have learned at MTG, and finished my day trading plan a few weeks ago, which I am now executing on a daily basis. I either traded very small positions or paper traded the opening gap until I was able to fully understand the terminology and finish my plan. I appreciate the responses to my questions over the last several weeks, as I have worked to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. At some point, I would like to write up a small testimonial, which you can post if you like. Thanks for all of your work - you guys are great. :)
June 21, 2011 | Mike
Hi Tim, Really like the service. My father is USMA class of '54 (just a bit before Scott). Believe it or not the West Point connection tipped the scale and lead to signing up for the trial. You guys seem very honest and seem to actually care. Go figure!!!! :)

Scott- First, I would like say how great it was to finally meet you in person at the Dallas Expo. You are just as passionate, personable and engaging in person as you are piping through my speakers every morning. Second, I appreciate the drinks and appetizers you provided. This was certainly not expected but follows along with the consistent level of class and dedication you maintain with your clients....truly one-of-a-kind in this industry. As SOP, I continue to spread the MTG word to other traders. As much as you and your team work hard to give your traders the best opportunity for success, I also wish continued great success for MTG....indeed, this is how business is supposed to work. Thank you again.
June 18, 2011 | Stephen
By the way, MTG has TOTALLY improved my trading in just a few short days. My testimonial is this: MTG paid for itself the first day I started trading with it. Thanks and keep up the great work!
June 17, 2011 | Joe
Scott - I have great admiration for your transparent honesty, and I have learned a lot from you through the daily wrap, your comments, and MTG help me improve my trading dramatically. Thanks a lot.

Greetings Tim: Greetings GapGuy: I never gave anyone a perfect score before - starting in kindergarten and all the way through law school. What a delight. This was just excellent (fyi: she is referring to the detailed videos sent to new members upon starting a trial). If you have time, would you send me the last three lessons also? Weekends are good times for me. Thanks - This is helpful stuff.
June 10, 2011 | Mary
Hi Scott, I just wanted to thank you for everything you provide. I’ve been very happy and have been learning a lot and certainly have a ton to learn. I’m a database administrator, so all the financial talk is very new to me. I also wanted to let you know that through your help I have had a 14 day winning streak going! I’ve only been going for half to 3/4 of what the gap target was. So my profits were smaller but I also wasn’t having any losses. Of course I knew that had to and it did with the gap gotcha trade today. But I’m very happy to finally to be moving in the right direction and earning some money. Thanks again!
PS I didn’t mention but when I started active trading last November I got really lucky and made just over [redacted for compliance] in the first 5 days. Then my luck changed drastically. Since then I have had a huge drawdown and prior to joining your room I was down XX% from my initial investment. Now I’m being very conservative and am making money. Just one of those reasons why I’m so happy to be in your room. Cheers,
June 10, 2011 | Tom
Thanks for the response Scott. The Gap Guides are helping put things in perspective for me and have really provided some clarity. I know I have posted several questions the last few weeks, and I sincerely appreciate both yours and Tim's responses - because both of you have made a huge difference with my trading. Thank you!!
June 9, 2011 | Mike
Hi, Thought you might want to hear from one of your gap trader (MTG Gap Fader) alumni. Well I have probably well over 150 stock gap trades. However, there are some huge nuances and differences. Oh….I am about ... successful and over... PF.
I have a list of best stocks that trade in the pre market and start with those. Each has a personality that one has to learn… And of course day of week is big. It is hard to make big money as fills for large numbers of shares. I usually get about 3 trades per week out of all of those stocks so as you can tell it takes a lot of pre market work. So stocks are for those who only want to make a couple hundred bucks or so a day that is tradeable.
As for index gaps…………..I only take the sweetest ones….maybe 5 per month……about 80% success but as you know the index gaps have been pretty hot so will have to see how that goes.….but sure makes it easy to take the easy ones……do not have to think too much about whether to take one or not.
So, all of this since last Fall with the purchase of the Fader….basically from amateur muddling to now advanced muddling. Not killing it yet but I can smell the beast.
So, thanks and congratulations on MTG. If there is anything that I love is watching/starting/running/ a great business and yours is primo. It has been a blast watching it grow. I think there were about 25 in the room when I first joined. The service has been outstanding at all times from all ….Tim, you, Chris, and the new ones. It is amazing how you are able to make people really feel like you care about each and every one of them…….and I know you do care about each and every one of them.

Just like to quickly say thank for the symposium webinar on Tuesday. People often try to flog trading to make money out of the public, but your candid approach put things into perspective for me,
May 18, 2011 | Scott
Scott, Thanks for your comments, insights and guidance today and each trading day. Even though I've put together a pretty detailed plan, I have struggled with committing completely to a probabilistic trading approach, sometimes trying to inject my "experience" into the initial setup, and worse, sometimes during the trade; almost always with less than optimal results, and certainly less than if I had just let the probabilities play out. From comments in the trading room I believe others have a similar problem.
I'm happy to say that since the first of the year trading is going in the right direction for me. Ironically, this means "taking myself out of the trade," and no changes or tweaking due to "gut feel". I may develop a directional bias based on news & overnight charts, but now do not allow that bias to override the Gap Guides and your pre-market comments, and I keep that bias in check.
So I don't tweak the trade once in it. It's taken a long time to get to this stage, because with just about everything I've ever done, I've relied to a large degree on gut feel - tough to get past that.
Anyway, didn't want this to be a confessional, just wanted to say thanks for your calm approach in the trading room - always very helpful, and for the great trade - stayed with it all the way in spite of my gut wanting to bail on the second half when it was falling back to the open. Good call & good trading. Thanks,
May 17, 2011 | Don
Scott, It is with a great deal of sadness that I'm having to leave your service today. Unfortunately I haven't been unable to log in (or trade) for over 6 months and I've had to come to a decision to hang up the trading boots for now.
I've now returned to the world of work and been fortunate enough to land another senior role, this time in a fund management business running over 200 funds and $75billion. I have been incredibly impressed by the honesty and professionalism of you and your service over the years. You are genuinely a one-off (in the best possible sense) in the trading world and I wish you all the best.
I genuinely hope this isn't the last time we come into contact with each other. PS Please pass on my regards to Chris (another genuine and incredibly talented individual I've had the fortune to meet as a result of MTG).

Hey! I'm 21 years old financing student from Finland currently studying to be adviser for investments and been interested of stocks for my whole life. Last year I had money to start trading but it went terribly wrong. Lost over 50% of my portfolio and studied and tried several differend strategies. All bunch of bullshit to be honest.
Then I found this site and I can't believe it how well it works. Trading Dax Index daily. Each morning building this sort of "propability meter" using gap zone map and other stuff in your site. Can't describe how happy I am that I've finally found system that works for me and I totally love it.
God bless you Sir. Today seems to be exhaustion gap and tomorrow is "turn around tuesday". 10 days bull rally and Dax up over +10% and I was riding that trend all the way while many others were shorting. Hopping on to ride downtrend after I get total confirm to my exhaustion gap doubts, perhaps tomorrow. *Deep bow*

I just think that what you are doing with the Red Cross is great! It provides a chance for top traders like yourselves to share what they have learned. I recognize that many presenters will use this opportunity to sell their wares but even that information will let us know whether it is worth pursuing their products. I plan to make a donation to this worthy cause. Thanks for keeping it real!

Thanks Scott. I just finished the sign up process. Your data is absolutely invaluable. As I mentioned before, I tried day trading a few years ago and had some success and would then give back my winnings. The real issue was not understanding the probabilities, exits, and historical data. Now I have this and it is huge.
I have a BSEE degree and keep meticulous notes of all my past efforts - they are now helping big time. I use some of my previous trading rules (with a few additions from MTG) and am having much better success.

Hi Scott and Chris, Teresa here, from the trading room. I really miss you guys and the room! I am taking a tough course in nanotechnology this spring, and also one in technical writing, so I really don’t have the time or energy to trade.
One thing I learned for sure is that Scott is an honest and transparent trader, which is a rare commodity indeed in the trading world. And a great story teller! The stories were my favorite part. Thanks you guys, happy trading, and maybe I’ll be back some day.
April 18, 2011 | Teresa
Hi Scott, Just to fill you in.... I've been in the room about 3 months now and without a doubt, it has elevated my trading skills and abilities. I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts on both probability and discretionary trades setups, as I trade both fashions and it opens my eyes to different approaches.
I also appreciate what Tim brings to the mix. Though very black and white and much different than the way I see myself trading, it's sometimes good for me to sit back and learn from what works for others and why. Thanks for all your help, Scott.

Hey Scott- it’s been a while! Crushed the market today because I trusted the probabilities in the TF- Took a full stop out early on- but got short at the high of the day multiple contracts and rode it all the way down for a sweet win. Carpe’d the Diem like a true gladiator.

I'm really enjoying you folks and gap trading. I especially like the wonderful help and feeling of commeraderie. My background: I just started trading this January with an ETF trend trading course. I'm pretty sure that I understand and can follow that approach from here on. This is done at night after markets close and gap trading in the AM, and some during the day, is a natural addition as I still have to work! I am a physician, and I also have a PhD and did several years of research in Physiology.

Hey Scott, just watched your free wrap video from Thursday as I was interested to see how your Infinity TF trade worked out ( I thought you were probably going to be stopped out by a tick but I was not 100% sure of your fill)........I know you thought that was a crummy video but to someone new to your methods and style I found it very credible based upon the fact that some discretion and luck are always a good thing in the market. Now I see you missed it by a tick. Nice! April 1, 2011 | Kevin
Scott, you thought your video tonight was awful, but in fact it displayed yet again your refreshingly open, honest, "good, bad and ugly" philosophy. I watched you in that live trade this morning, and the way you handled that while in the middle of a presentation was really professional. I saw you working that entry to take advantage of that little pull-back to get the best entry possible. I'm glad you got a little lucky - you've certainly had your share of the other. Well done! Thanks, pal!
March 30, 2011 | Rob
Hi Scott! You mentioned near the end of your March 31st video that it may have been your worst Gap Wrap ever. I wholeheartedly disagree! I think you need to use that video to promote who you really are! It is videos like this one that make me proud to be a part of your Trading Room. You really made my morning and turned my mood right around! Here's a rather lengthy story of why:
... Not sure if my story makes it clear why your video was so important to me this morning, but I just want you to know how much I appreciated it! Your HONESTY is 2nd to none in this industry! Thank you. I've only been trading for a year and have a relatively small stake, but am committed to making a career of it. I am working very mechanically right now as I get my emotions under control and days like yesterday are still difficult, but your explanation actually gave me a ton of confidence. I just need to be smarter (more flexible) with my stops and really begin to pay attention in the Trading Room, but still trust my ability to read my charts.
Thank you again! I can't wait to get back in the Training Room later this morning! Feel free to bring up my email as an example of how we can all use each other in the Trading Room for mutual success!

Tim was warm, reliable , prompt, organized, and professional. He is very confident in his belief in his system, and that is an inspiration, and makes it easy to come along for the ride. He has given me the confidence to believe in the probabilities and to let them work. He showed me how to create the plan, and also gave a serious and thoughtful critique to my draft. His suggetions added another dimension to my initial plan, and that was how to grow and add additional "money centers" to the plans of the future. In the world of trading courses and services, this is by far the best money I have spent on any trading program. Worth every cent, and much more. I only wish I had taken the course sooner!

Scott: I have to thank you ever so much for participating in the TradeStation Morning Market Briefing. You are by far the best presenter they have. While I am a premium member of Master the Gap and have a medium to good understanding of the things you are explaining each Thursday morning, I am still nonetheless impressed at your degree of thoroughness and starting with an overview, building a foundation, and then refining the intricacies. I certainly hope it is worthwhile for you and you continue it for some time.
On another but closely related note, I want to thank you for having done what you have done in arriving where you are today. As I am sure you know, everyone adapts to a trading technique that suits their own personal psyche. Trading opening gaps is but one. It just so happens that I find it attractive as well. However, your approach has been methodical, sound, and without smoke and mirrors. Furthermore, without giving up proprietary things like “Otis” you openly present the elements. While it still may be an art, it doesn’t appear to be a “black art.”
I am a very well read individual, having maintained an interest in trading since the 1960s (although not being continuously active), starting to learn by following Chester Keltner and trading corn. More recently I have looked hard at the theories of Alexander Elder, John Carter, and Nick McDonald. Of them all, I find both your approach and that of Nick McDonald to be really reasonable and the best I have found. But I digress. I, like you, am a person of several major careers. By education, I am an attorney. I practiced law for several years, starting out as a high powered Federal attorney in Washington. I decided I wasn’t having any fun practicing law, so I became a broker that was mildly successful and learned a lot about trading.
I am now focused on daytrading, trying to find my niche with a rewarding technique(s). It provides me a great deal of support to have come across a trailblazer like you that has survived all of the arrows in the back and bullet holes in the feet. I know there is no holy grail or silver bullet, and to your credit you don’t offer such. For my part, you provide a great deal of inspiration. I look forward to a long relationship of learning from you and diligently profiting from it. While I think it’s an understatement, keep up the good work!

Scott, Thanks for providing such a detailed answer, and so quickly. Let me take this opportunity to offer additional thanks for the service you provide to myself and your other subscribers. MTG Gap Guides and your pre-market comments have been very valuable (and profitable!) to me in the 17 months that I have been a member. Today was a particularly notable treat; I nearly wavered from my strategy, but a second reading of your pre-market comments got me off the fence and I faded for a [redacted for compliance] profit.

Hi Scott, First, I really enjoy your site and have been a member for about a month now. Second, thanks for posting the "Top Stocks 2010" online. Nice research.

Scott, Just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed the website and chat room during my trial. I just upgraded my membership and look forward to the weeks and months ahead. The insight from you, Tim and the other members has been fantastic. I'm fairly new to futures trading so the information you provide has and will be invaluable to my learning process. As a former Air Force pilot I've even overlooked the Air Force Academy jabs- just kidding! My son just graduated from there in May. Anyway, with all the chat rooms and websites out there I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the integrity and knowledge found on your website and I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship!

If I haven't shared before, the biggest value that I've gotten from you & your team's work @ MTG is avoiding many of the losing gaps that I would have taken earlier in my checkered ES daytrading career. A close second is the tone for the day that your Gap Guides and FHNs set to get the wind at my back. E.g., if we gap down a bunch and your guides show a weak chance of closing the gap, I'll be primarily looking for opportunities to short rallies until internals significantly go positive.Best Wishes,
Feb 24, 2011 | Dom
Tim / Scott, My name is Ron and I am a recent subscriber to MasterTheGap and trading room. The amount of information I have absorbed in the last 6 weeks has been phenomenal. I have followed your free content for more than 6 months and decided to seriously consider trading as a career at the beginning of the year. I believe mechanical trading combined with probabilities offer me the best chance of success as a trader.
Feb 23, 2011 | Ron
Scott: just wanted to thank you for keeping me out of the opening gap play. I would have typically have taken that one. I made some profits last evening going short around 21:35 and closed it out before going to bed. I would have lost all of that and more if I would have taken the opening gap.
Feb 16, 2011 | Ken
Hi Scott, just thought I'd send you an update on my progress since the last time I emailed you. Things are still going well. I increased my trading size in Feb and ended with my best month ever, up 10%, and that's with not 1 but 2 "Buffalo" trades this month including today's gap trade where I got stopped at the dead highs only to see it roll over and hit my primary target exactly.
But after getting stopped out I still had the confidence to trade the first hour numbers and made back most of what I lost with the low breakout on the NQ. I've increased my streak of winning months now to 8 and hope to keep that going for as long as possible :)
I really like the changes you guys have made recently with the guides/website as I find it much better organized and easier to make my trading decisions each day and I appreciate your efforts in getting your commentary up a bit sooner each morning. Keep up the good work!

Hi Scott, Just wanted to say that I am glad I did not trade today’s set-up as well. It was obviously a low probability trade. I appreciate your discipline which encourages members to “stick to their guns” and only play the high probability set-ups. The guy who wrote the email about missing today’s trade obviously doesn’t understand how to make money trading over the long term. Today’s result is a great way to test our resolve to say disciplined in the face of temptations that the market occasionally offers. Those that do not understand this are destined for disaster. I have enjoyed your service over the last month and your gap wraps for the last few years. Keep up the great work!!! Best regards,
February 10, 2011 | Darren Scott and Tim: I just wanted to tell you that I very much appreciate the First Hour Guides. I find them very helpful and .... profitable. I do not use them as a stand-alone instrument. Used with other tools, I find that they are an excellent confirmation for a possible trade. I also gain security by not taking trades that I might when the guides point out that the past probabilities have not been favorable.
February 2, 2011 | Steve
Scott, I really appreciated your video tonight, many of the online guru's would have shot their video again after they had re-composed themselves upon discovering the mistakes they made in the trade, it's times like this I realize the value of the service. This was one of the best videos you've done because it shows how humble and honest you are. The video was also really entertaining and made me laugh because I could identify with the trading execution errors and how frustrating they are. You are packing in a lot of activities before the open due to the services you are providing and your own trading. I just wanted to extend to you a huge thank you for being so generous in sharing such an amazing system in a highly organized fashion. Sharing this system no doubt detracts from your own bottom line $'s in the trading account but I sincerely hope you realize how appreciated your hard work is for members like myself.
January 13, 2011 | Greg
Hi Scott... It seemed you were pretty down on yourself today. Well, I wanted to send you a positive note so you would have something other than pithy emails to read.... I've traded for a long time (first time was not long after the '87 crash), but never with any consistent discipline or trading strategy. It's not been until I became a subscriber that I've really taken the time (or even knew to take the time) to evaluate my trades objectively, to understand risk and position sizing and to develop a trading plan. I now have a pretty detailed trading plan that allows me to trade four different types of setups. The point is my confidence in my setups has increased dramatically, my ability to pick winning setups and, most importantly, avoid losing setups has improved dramatically.
Anyway, please keep up the service and don't let a bad day get you down. I get huge benefit from the room and the commentary from you and Tim. Thanks,-Chuck

(Chat room post) I think we should alll be grateful for what we have found here - something special in the world of trading - some honest people who can help us make money - a hard combination to find. Believe me, I've seen enough traders' tax returns to know that 90 - 95% lose money and eventually blow themselves out. I've seen about a thousand trader's tax returns and 90 - 95% lose money, in less than 3 years they're gone.

The community and your company is a real blessing in my life as trading can be a lonely life. It's nice to have a group that jokes around during the day, shares info, encourages those who are struggling and, of course, waits with baited breath for your next massage / free ham type story. Cheers, Andrew

I want to let you guys know that I appreciate now getting (at no extra charge) the ETF first hour guides. For those of us still struggling to make a profit, more "high probability setups" is what we need. I used the first hour guides for the first time today (in sim, of course, to start), trading the low fade of SPY (the best today, I think), and it worked! A [redacted for compliance] gain on a 100 share trade (which I plan to increase to 1000 shares once I become consistent). Keep up the good work,George

Tim- MTG Range Trader takes trading 'probabilities' to a whole new level. Once I got my arms around what this jet engine is capable of doing I could hardly stop thinking of all the possibilities - they are limitless. In a matter of hours I am able to build a database of odds on a 15min breakout-only strategy on any market. The patience and superior data skills you provide during training really makes Range Trader fly. I advise anyone who wants to simplify their trading plan backed with 10+ years of data to get their hands on this amazing tool. Stephen

Tim- I signed up for your service 4 weeks ago. Y'all are awesome! I love the morning commentary. I've known for a long time my trading needed to be more probability based. You gave me the "kick-in-the butt" I needed to start building my own model.

Tim, Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much I love the MTG Wizard. Although I have just finished the tutorials and have begun playing with the Wizard itself, I can see what a powerful tool it is. It really boils your whole trading universe down to simple dollars, cents and probabilities......and frankly, isn't that what this is all about?
As I was watching the first tutorial, I felt like someone dropped a concrete block on my head. I instantly realized how haphazard and undisciplined my trading has been. Even "clueless" comes to mind. Yet another humbling trading experience.
I can't wait to start using the Wizard to put a plan together. Kudos and many thanks to you for turning on the brightest light I have seen in a while.

This is such a howler, thought you'd get a kick out of it: "Subject: Make 50 to 100% return per month, trading 1 trade per day on S&P 500 E-Mini." The industry just feeds upon people's wild expecatations - must drive you crazy. Thank goodness for honest and realistic traders like you and Tim. Rick

Thanks Scott...and btw, if I have not mentioned, I really am enjoying the access to your trading room. I find that your patience in entering positions helps me out, as I am all too quick to pull the trigger at the slightest inkling of a setup. Oh, well, I guess it's the balancing act that we all go thru as traders, I understand that some do just the opposite and have a hard time pulling the trigger at all. Know thyself! Kind Regards, Dom

Hi Scott, I just wanted to share with you my experience with your service to date. I'm probably one of your younger members (early 30's), and have been trading on and off since I was in high school. I've gone through various stages of trading experience, from buy and hold stuff with stocks, to options trading to working full time at a trading firm that focused on scalping listed stocks.
Last year my Dad attended one of your seminars in Vegas and gave me one of your mousepads with the gap zone map. This year in January I decided to take the plunge and become a premium member. I went through a period of following all your trade decisions and trade management... just in time to see the infamous "1-pt rule" bite you a ridiculous number of times in a row. Thankfully Tim was in the room too and I saw the value in his style of following the guides, having a mechanical system and letting the probabilities work in your favor.
Since then I have built up the ability to trade both the gap and 1st hour numbers with confidence. I have developed my own criteria for when to enter a trade and my own way to manage my trades which works for my personality. I went from a 47% win rate and 0.52 profit factor the first 6 months (with no winning months), to a .... win rate and profit factor the last 4 months (all winning months)! I know that I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn, but I finally feel that this is something that I will be able to make a living doing and I know that I could not have achieved this without your service. So thank you. I hope that my story will encourage you to keep doing what you do. BTW, my dad is also now in the trading room and we talk on the phone every morning and trade the gap and 1st hour numbers together :) Sincerely, Chris

I guess you could say the gap trades will be a good addition to the gap I had in trading (also am following the FH guides for another set of trades that I had not been watching previously). I am also enjoying following the trade talk since trading can definitely be boring at times with all the waiting.

Thought I would check in and let you know how it was going. I was lucky to start trading v2 of my system in May, which as you know was a great month. I am currently in a drawdown but nothing terrible, with max DD being 5.7% and current 4.3%. It’s been really great trading the system, and I just wanted to remind you how much your mentorship did for me. It really got me going down the path to great trading ... Thanks again.

You absolutely nailed yesterday’s action Scott, I was very skeptical that we’d get gap fill much less extended target. I’ve seen you do this several times now and I’d like to learn all I can from you. Looking forward to it, Dave.

Hi Scott, I was a little lost when I found MasterTheGap, and I thought it would be a good idea to try probability based trading. After I signed up for your mentorship I knew it was a good decision and have never regretted it. I was going through some very turbulent times when I came across MasterTheGap, but I have not regretted it for an instant. I can honestly say since last October, everything is turning up roses. You are such a genuine person I thought you might want to hear a real life (somewhat) fairy tale... Monday will be my first day in the trading room full time, and I've never looked more forward to a day of work in my life. Take care and God bless,

Scott, I really appreciate your devotion to trader's education. Your EOD comments helped many traders to feel a sense of confidence, going into the close of a trying trade day. While I whole heartedly endorse the MTG services ... the reality is that I am trading an "off shoot" of the methods you utilize ... and thus ... will not be using the data your providing. Scott I thought I would tell you about a possible edge I have come across using info in your gap wraps. In the June 25 wrap you talk about what happens after 5 lower lows. So the odds were that the US would open up and if it didn't gap fill was a high probability. I watched the wrap at 4am your time and YM futures were below gap fill, so based on the above info I placed a minimum stake trade aiming for gap fill pre market and bagged a small 15 point winner.
This morning the same thing happened. Of course a lot more research would need to be done but it would seem knowing the odds of the next day being an up gap or a down gap could be useful for European gappers and US insomniacs! Best Regards Gary

Hi Scott, It was great to meet you at the social in Pasedena and thanks for the goodies! I really enjoy and put to good use your research on the gaps. I started trading equity gaps back in 2001 (when it was easier). From my vantage point it's gotten more difficult over the years and I think the gap guides provide a great tool for measuring the probability of success. Blessings ! Steve
June 21, 2010 | Steve I loved the Trading Wizard. It allowed me to really clearly see the risk that's required to obtain certain profits. It enables one to set realistic profit goals with risk that is tolerable.
I was surprised at how I felt the moment I completed my Trading Business Plan. It was like a rite of passage. I felt in that moment I went from being a amateur trader to a professional. I loved his (Tim's) transparency about all his trading experiences. It gave me confidence in my future since a lot of our past experiences were similar and look at him now!! Linda

Chris and Scott, It appears the problem has been resolved. Thank you for your prompt response. You may be interested in the following from a brand new--Read: Today-- subscriber:
I have been exclusively full-time trading--both stocks and options--successfully (enough to earn a modest living) for 12+ years now using a "tougher," less-frequent definition of Daily chart gaps (yesterday's HIGH below today's LOW), in addition to other technical indicators, as a basis for day or swing trades. I feel like I have been on the verge of greatness (taking my success to a whole new level) for some time now, but have been unable to fully overcome self-doubt and fear-based habits (occasional entries b/c the move is "too good to miss" or "too good to be true," and impatient exits caused by watching the level two or my P&L).
As my awesome wife can attest, I am EXTREMELY excited about your service--the only trading service to which I have EVER subscribed--as it will give me greater underlying conviction in my gap trades (as well as a tradeable, expanded definition of "gaps" for me). I am very passionate about and committed to trading, and have been since 1999. I know it is only a matter of time before I reach my true potential by breaking a few bad habits. I truly believe that with the guidance and insights of Scott (who I have been following for several months now), I have come to that long-awaited time. Between his gap analysis and my own Day L-H range-based trading approach (which is how I found success in late 1999), I think I have found the right mix!
The key is that I am confident in Scott's and my own approaches and long-term success. I look forward to many wonderful years on board. Just as an aside--My wife has given me a new nickname since I joined your service on Tuesday as she can sense my excitement: Gapper Napper Brian! (I have for years taken a nap every day after the close to recharge for family time in the late afternoon and evening) Best wishes, Brian

Scott, Strictly by today's MTG guide numbers, I was on the fence. Gap Fader gave me a little different slant with Zone 9 and below the 10MA; and your comments prior to the open also gave an extra push to get in. Thanks for a good trade. Don

Hey Scott, I was just updating my recent gap results and thought you might be happy to know that the first two months of my new version 2 system netted [redacted for compliance] (actual fills, including commission) on 9 winners / 3 losers. I credit my updated gap signals and my new position sizing strategy. It’s only two months, but what a great start. I couldn’t have done it without you! Cheers, Isaac

We have a much tighter gap plan as a result of working with Tim. We have a action plan put together faster than we would have gotten it done by ourselves as a result of working with Tim. Within a short period of time (we started the gap 3/1/10) we have gone from an introduction to the strategy to a fully ready to execute action plan. We know what we are doing each day, and how to implement and manage.
Tim Mock: Excellent - exceeded my expectations. Very steady, consistent, patient, organized.

SCott/Tim, Thanks for what you have tough me in the live room. I now have enough data with the new gap guides to make a decision on how I plan to trade the gap. I no longer need the live room as I find that my trading plan differs from Scott. Thanks! David

Hi Chris, Having being with you and Scott for over a year now I have come to appreciate so much the service you provide, but above everything I value the integrity of you both. Honesty is also something very important to me personally. As such I am very interested in having Master the Gap manage some money for me.

Scott I would just like to say thanks for the tip about reducing position size...That idea is something I had never considered before but now I am going to include it in my trading plan. I learn something everyday at MTG! Thanks again Gary May 26, 2010 | Gary
Scott, I really enjoyed your presentation today. It was long on content and short on hype, which is very good. Thanks, Ken

Scott,OK here's a first. Faded the gap from the back seat of a car in Times Square, heading for our first location. Nice fill. Thanks. David

Hi Scott: I have given you feedback before about your integrity, patience, and your commitment to your members and all of that still holds true. You are a great guy Scott and I hope to run in to you at a trade conference one of these times. Kind regards, Tom
May 13, 2010 | Tom
Hey Scott, I went ahead and traded it based on the 70% & 1.3 PF this morning. It worked nicely as psychologically I've been looking for a way to trade the gap w/o having to manage the trade. It was the calmest gap trade I've done without the room's help! Thanks for your trading service and all your help. Matthew

Thanks Tim for your help and the clarity of your coaching and to Scott for your invaluable insights in the trading room. It is very refreshing to recieve more value than I paid for in trader education. Randy

I have been a member of MTG for 2 months and I wanted to give some feedback on your service. Being a cautious type I must have followed your free gap wrap every day for at least 6 months before I decided to commit to membership. I think you being yourself is the best advert to buy into MTG there is, in your videos you come over as a open and honest family man. Believe me I am hard to sell to, I dont have stars in my eyes .
I have been trading 3 years ,I have my own set ups, I am profitable (but not very). My need is to improve bad habits like for example snatching at wins instead of letting them run. The main reason I joined was to watch you in the trading room in the hope that watching an expert trader your good habits would rub off on me.
Over the past two months I have noticed a steady improvement in my ability to stay with trades. I am integrating the guides into my own plan and I am looking forward to your new ideas in development. Best Regards Gary

Tim was exceptional. Under promised and over-delivered. He was honest and forthright particularly with the many ways traders use the Gap Guides. Further, Tim (as well as Scott) always come across as "one of us" - you remember what it was like being a newbie. MTG is top dog for active trader education. You guys respect your members which prompts me to want to become a life-time member. - Stephen

Hi Scott, I just wanted to let you know that I used the ideas we talked about last night about entering before/after the open to turn todays gap into my biggest winner yet. I was up pretty late running various tests regarding the efficiency analysis and set up an order to enter at 1203. Thanks again! Pradeep

Scott, I'm 45 and I've been investing for 27 years. Wandering for 27 years is a better description. You provide me with an edge that I didn't have prior to Nov 09. You're an excellent teacher, please don't change a thing. I know that you are very passionate about your study. I will continue to follow along and learn. The trading room is a think tank, it is part of the master mind principle ("Think and grow rich " by Napolean Hill ). Have a great trip to the OB. I'm a very satisfied customer!! Emery

Scott, At the risk of jinxing myself I just wanted to thank you for the service you offer. I have been a faithful subscriber for almost two months now and I have more than earned back the monthly cost for your guides. For now I just play follow the leader while I am still trying to figure out what will work best for me. But to be completely blunt I like your conservative approach and your philosophy that "I would rather miss a winner than pick a loser" makes a lot of sense. (although I do have to admit I get mad when it fills and I did not play! haha). Since joining I have had ... winning trades and ... losers for a profit factor of ...
This week alone was pretty good. Fortunately for me the trade you mentioned in the gap wrap a couple days ago that you invoked your one point rule on and ended up losing I held out for the eventual win. I do not mean to rub salt in the wound. I only mention that because there was a trade in early March where I "managed" the trade because of the fear that set in when it hit so close to stopping me so out I moved my profit target up to one tick profit just to get out and then the gap eventually did fill so I missed out on that big winner. I am learning to leave the trade alone and let math take over. So I just wanted to thank you. I have learned a great deal from you. I know I have finally found a strategy that can create consistent profits. It is ALL in the math. I also want to thank you for offering your service at a VERY reasonable price. As you are probably aware there are charlatans out there who want to charge you thousands for their strategies and software... seriously? So you have earned my respect and you have earned my patronage. I am actually thinking of upgrading my account to include the trade room. Next time you are at the Las Vegas trade show I would like to come and shake your hand. Thanks John
April 9, 2010 | John Dear Scott, I am a subscriber to your MTG. I find it great! REgards, Dilip

Hi Scott and Tim, I want to say that overall, I have been impressed with your service. You certainly put a lot of work into what you do and seem to have the best interest of your members at heart. I like the honesty, openness, and freedom I feel you both offer.
I wish I had the discipline you seem to have to leave things alone because I cheat myself out of a lot of profits when I intervene too much. Anyway, thanks for all of your time and effort both of you! I always feel like you guys are honestly try to improve the people you work with, not just grab their money! Sincerely, Diane

Scott, I’ve been using your service for about nine months and after taking many seminars from others (more than I care to admit), each claiming to give solid trading directions/recommendations, etc., in my experience nothing out there comes close to your MTG approach. Probabilities not possibilities as you put it so well on the site.
The success I’ve had using MTG has been outstanding, and recommend your approach/style to any serious trader. I’ve recommended MTG to some friends here in Wisconsin and expect they'll sign up for a trial. The Gap Fader Mentorship has also worked out very well, great tool and after lots of hours, it’s been a great aid in re-focusing me on the randomness of the markets and to really understand back testing and probabilities. I’ve acknowledged those concepts before, but never really appreciated their impact in the markets and on my trading. Best Regards,

Scott, Tim, Chris - You guys are great, MTG is working for me, you have a long term member here. I have been with you and in the room for about 4 months now and am getting comfortable with the approach. I will be back in the room in the future, but, for the near tern I am going to cut back my membership guides only. I want to try my wings. Your service is getting better all the time - keep it up. Thanks. David

Yesterday in my opinion for those of us that do not get your intraday commentary was a win because I was not aware you had tighten your stop and just stuck to the plan and made money. David
March 3, 2010 | David
thanks for your commentaries. It helps soooo much. Today I took the TFH. Because of your "descretionary" trade I was much more cautious...took my first target and then moved my stop on the balance to break even because of you. You have taught me to take my own trades with confidence. The last five months have been priceless (well not quite but I have made money while having a lot of fun.) Gary

Scott, If it was not for your idea to make the 1st TGT today at yesterday's high, I would have lost about 250 Dow pts at the close vs. making about ...Dow points at your 1st tgt, then moved to BE and was out. Pretty sweet. Thank you SO much for the great call. Michael

Hello Scott, I just finished a meeting with Tim. Even after he discovered the problem was caused by me, he was very gracious. Hi Scott, I am very happy with you, your service, and the trading room. So happy that I would be glad to write a testimonial if you would like one. My account has been doing pretty well for someone with no trading background. As I think you know, I am with the service because my husband Michael (Bigfoot) wants someone to do it, and he can't follow directions, poor thing ;). Best, Teresa

Tim- I want you to know that your prezo was superb and exceptional. You handled the situation with grace and the upmost professionalism. Having created extensive DCF models with nested pivot tables in a past life I can appreciate the many hours of work to develop, calibrate and test the Wizard.
Hats off to you and the entire MTG gang! Over-deliver in terms of value is certainly an understatement. Good Gapping- Stephen

Scott, You nailed another one today. I was right there with you -except I did'nt have the grit to test yesterday's high. You market insight is inspirational. I am ... trades as of today since 11/17/09. Best regards, Rob
January 14, 2010 | Rob
I absolutely love your approach to the markets. It solves the problem of the failures of indicator based trading while still allowing back-testing. The successful day traders I know, stick to 70% or better trades. Unfortunately that number is seat of the pants, or at best, they get it from their trading records. That doesn't do me any good. Without a hard mathematical edge, I'm not sure I can succeed at this. Thanks Much, Jason

Dear Scott, Happy New Year! 2009 was an excellent year for me. I moved to trading full time after about 3 years of learning to trade and have developed a very sound trading style that suits me well. Moving to full time trading (and improving my skills sufficiently) has given my the opportunity to now manage some significant size accounts in 2010, >$1million. I will be including gap trading as a component of the trades taken in these accounts. Approx 2-3yrs of trading the gaps under your guidance has given me the confidence to do this so thank you.
Thanks again for the support, trading is the best business I know of and you have been a part of me achieving what I sometimes doubted was possible.....Regards, Steve

Scott, Been trading using your filters and a sprinkle of my discretion since 11/17. Since then there have been eight trade days I've faded the ES on recommended occasions per the morning advisory. Of those 6 filled or extended filled, one was a loser (yesterday's trade- a scratch for me) and one I closed out on 12/15 for a two tick bump on the plus side. So overall I'm ... on 25K account. Phenomenal results. Thank you and I wanted to wish you and the family a very happy, healthy and prosperous holiday and new year. Best regards, Rob

In particular, I really appreciated you sharing the details of your life's story, and how you did some soul searching and figured out what fit all your values. This is the first testimonial I have ever given to any product or service. I am so glad that after hearing you speak in Pasadena last June, I decided to give your service a try. As a daily member in the Live Trading room, I find the information you provide exceptional, and have definitely increased my day trading skills, though I still have a long way to go. I'm particularly impressed with your transparency, openness, and honest straight talk. No question goes unanswered in the trading room. Hi there-- Hope you are coming to NYC Traders Expo Feb 2010. I heard your talk last Feb. and it was the most valuable talk of the entire Expo--I became a subscriber. Hope to have a chance to say hello to you there. Sharona

Thanks Scott; I appreciate you ponying up for my mental lapse. You know, of course, most internet moguls would have kept the money. Seriously though, you’re such a standup guy, it’s really quite impressive. Best,Evan

Hi Gap Geeks, Your service is exceptional and I plan on being a member for years to come. Thanks, Michael
November 16, 2009 | Michael
I am presently not a member as of yet but have hopes to join very soon. This e mail is not about questions or etc. I in honesty did not know you at the last expo and have hi hopes to meet you then and hope to share some smiles when I tell you that I am a member and am allowing myself to make some GAP GREEN. Ok even from a present non member I thank you for your sharing, humor and honesty.

I am enjoying the room and appreciate your work. Sorry about your execution error today. I will spare you all of my similar experiences. Anyway, thanks again for you "odds in your favor" approach, your honesty, and you "usual" equanimity when taking a loss. This has helped me be not so fearful of a little draw down. As you say, you have to risk something to make something, or something to that effect. Take good care, Tom

I really enjoyed the book. I will be going your trading room shortly. I really appreciate all the information you freely give out. You have built some great research. Thanks,Tyson

I thought you ran a good trading room. I appreciated your openness and honesty as it related to your trades, and how you handled your winners as well as losers. And while our trading styles and signals are different, I definitely liked your methodical (and statistical approach) to you trading. Being a math guy, I'm definitely drawn to the probabilities and testing. I also wanted to say Happy Veterans Day. Thank you for your service to our country.

Must say I am very impressed by your site. As I said I have an automated strategy which I will share the details with you. I have to go to work at the moment, but over the next couple of days I will give you a description of it and show you the tradestation equity curve...as I would love to hear your thoughts.

As a side note, I did end up renewing my subscription today after trying to fade the gap myself. I tried to fade this morning's gap but without your guides I felt naked not knowing the odds. After quickly being down about -2/-3 pts I didn't like what I was feeling and promptly renewed my subscription and saw the horrible odds I had traded into.

Hi Scott, Firstly let me thank you for the excellent service that you provide. It gave me the impetus I needed to develop my own Gap systems for the FTSE and the Russell and so far performance has been good. Gap trading if perfect for my personality due to the limited time you need to be at the screen when the markets open, I am very grateful to have come across your site and have learnt from someone with so much integrity. When you have your money management service up and running perhaps you could send me some information. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Scott, I really appreciate all the work that you do and I believe you are one of the few people out there that is so transparent with their trading and willing to share so much information. I am watching pretty much all your video wrap ups that you release as I use very similar gap strategies and I look at the same set ups. Once again, I appreciate all the work that you do and I appreciate even more the fact that you are willing to share it with so many people. Yours, Dimitri

Scott, I just want to thank you for your introducing me to gap trading and for the way the trading room is run. I have found that gap trading is the clearest, least ambiguous and for me the simplest and most profitable form of day trading. The trading room is run in a professional yet comfortable manner with no wild egos on the part of either the facilitator or the participants. For me it's simply great! Thanks again, Frank

I'm an experienced trader (over 12 years full time) who uses your offering in somewhat unorthodox way - I do take some of the trades but I mostly listen in for real time help in handling gaps for a few of my larger swing-trading positions already in play. You clearly know what you are doing and are doing it well, openly and in a friendly fashion... who wants to listen to an inexperienced, secretive grouch at 9:15 in the morning? :-) Take care, all the best, keep up the good work! Hi Scott,
I am at my biannual anniversary with Master the Gap, and I am very pleased with all aspects of what you offer. Today’s events made me think of a slight spin on the saying, "I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today." I received my 3 month Master the Gap bill, while my IB account increased over [redacted for compliance] with today’s trade. The transparency you offer is something completely unique to my +12 years of trading.
While you strive to teach us to fish (in lieu of serving us catfish and hushpuppies), I want to support the fact that you also personally serve up the feast a couple of times a week. Firstly, your real-time calls immediately create respect for you and trust in your methodology. What better way to calm the nerves of newbies? Secondly, by explaining the subtle nuances of each trade’s unique characteristics, you are acting as a personal mentor to many aspiring traders. Cheers! Evan

Dear Scott. Last year, I lost XX% of my total asset from investment in mutual funds. Then I retired from my medical practice, started to learn day trading. I went through three day trading schools, joined three chat rooms, and attended more than 100 day trading lectures...
Lately, I saw your presentations from Money Show, found you have much more scientific and statistical data than any one I know. I joined you membership a few weeks ago. I love it, it made more money for me for sure...your program is safer than buy and hold. Thank you. Kevin

Scott, thanks for your great site. Thought you'd be interested: I sometimes fade the gap when you don’t (when the probabilities are high). I use the Gap Guides in June to go ... and make about ... trading 6-8 contracts. I use a a little bigger stop than you (7-8 pts in the ES) and never adjust the stops/targets. I’ve found it best to trade full size on all of my gap plays – even when you don’t. Keep up the great work. Regards, Dave

Scott just wanted to tell you that i used your price guide this morning and went long at 882.50 and scalped 3 points... I think using your price guides in combination with my technical trading style that i learned from Linda Raschke is going to make for a very successful year..... My last two months ive had 35 trades... Unbelievable

Hi Scott, I just thought I'd drop you a message to let you know how the system has been working out for me thus far...
Granted this is a small sample size, but thus far I think the system has proven itself to be very sound. The low R was initially troubling. But given that we're selecting trades with higher historical win % and PFs, the extra risk is justified. Thanks,Gregg

Hi Scott, I have been trading the Gap with your service for about 2.5 months and I've had some rough times (April) but also some good times May and June :-) so overall I am enjoying the service. I especially like that you are numbers oriented and try to take the subjectivity out of trading as much as possible.

Thanks for keeping up with the trading room, especially while traveling, doing mentorships, and on west coast time. You’re my hero. Sincerely, thanks for all the help. The mentorship has been really changed the way I’ll trade from now on. I can’t wait to see my system in action!

Scott, before fully committing to trading the ES I reviewed your 16 month track record that was posted on the old site and followed you with small size for a while as well. Once I believed in it, I had no trouble trading along with you. I find that you are always open and honest on the site and in one-on-one conversation. The best traders usually are. Thanks.

First time in your trading room this am. Very impressed with your service. I have found lots of services with little to no data backing up their methods. Yours is one of the few that has that. easy way to separate out what has value and what does not.

I appreciate your services and the effort you put in. Keep up the great work. And, by the way, I really appreciate the addition of the YM and others, give me a better feel for the overall quality of the fades, and a selection, as I find myself trading the YM as often now as the ES.

Scott,
I finished your e-book about 2 weeks ago and wanted to say well done Scott. It's odd, its not that I learned something new that I had to do to change my gap trading but I learned what I should not do and the epiphany has been very helpful. After I teach myself to fish for a few months I look forward to trying out your Master the Gap forum. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my emails Scott.

Hi Scott - I am very happy to have come across your site and am definitely inspired to set up my own system. Pity I didn't run across your site a year ago!! Just ordered historical data on the Russell today to do some testing when I get back. I've being trying so hard to make a go at day trading for the past 2 years and having learnt a lot, I still feel it could be another 2 years!! I've come to the conclusion that I really don't want to spend my life behind a monitor all day! Trading gaps certainly seems like a great way to pay the bills and stll maintain some flexibility in your life. Thanks once again for such a great service and all the hard work you have put in.
February 27, 2009 | Angus
Scott, I find that these probabilities really do work long term - I think that's the key - kind of tough to judge over a month or so, although I've not had a negative month since last June. Thanks for all you do.

The information in the book "understanding Gaps" is tremendous, it goes way beyond anything I had ever heard or read on Gaps. The book is easy to read, and very informative. If you plan on trading Gaps, you should read this book!

Scott, instead of emailing you I thought you might appreciate a plug on your website. Even though I am not finished with your mentorship, I’ve already used the Gap Fader tool to make money. I back-tested the best size stop to use on one of my favorite stocks and risked 44 cents. It also told me to hold beyond the prior close for a bigger target. And that is what I did. Result: ... per share in one day, and best of all I was in and out in 10 minutes. THANK YOU!! I can’t wait to learn more. Randy
February 6, 2009 | Randy
Hi Scott,
In just a short period of time, your signals have prevented me from taking trades I would have clearly lost money on. As you have stated, the key is taking the gaps that have the best chance of working, and your system is a great filter to use even for experienced gap traders!
Thanks! Leigh

Scott, i'm very happy with my trading results. With the help of your site and Otis signals the results have been great! In this business full of "get rich quick" schemes it's very good to find a real system based on probabilities and results. Thanks for your hard work and thanks for your help!

You have created the best educational-mentor combination I have experienced in 18 years of looking at everything. If a person wants to see what it takes to be a "real" trader, I suggest your service. Its affordable and has a real time track record to back it up. thanks for your efforts.

I've been a member here now for about 3 months and have been very happy with this service. This method is great as a stand alone (with excellent results by the way) or to supplement your own gap entry method. Either way, the research on the site and Scott's record speak for themselves. They're both excellent!!! Otis rocks!!!

Last Sunday I was organizing all my notes since April 2008, every trade that I did, I took a note and explained why I took that setup, now I exactly know which ones are winners, and which ones are losers.
I won in most of the gap trades, I am taking the gaps when Scott recommended them and when his recommendations agree with my analysis... and since April, I only lost in two gap plays. Sometimes, when Scott recommended the gap play I did not take it, but every time that I followed his recommendations, and my analysis, I won, except for two trades.

I recommend anyone day trading to use this valuable resource to trade Gaps!

Your backtesting-intensive approach to gap trading is the best I have seen. As someone who primarily trades equities, I have benefited greatly from your daily commmentary. I like the fact you're less concerned with win rate than you are with profit expectancy and money management. You also project a confidence and honesty and humily that really sets you apart. Thanks for your service and keep up the great work!

Scott, Thanks for the great room. Your chat helped me to make 3 out of 3 successful plays today on the ES. Your techniques and descriptions helped me feel confident about the execution and also effected high percentage winning. You have a lot of research you have done that has supported the decisions, as you frequently explain.

Okay...I had to add a new testimonial after today (2/14). I had covered all of my short ES on the gap play but then you said there was a potential for a break down below the day's low. So...I re-entered a short and picked up 4 more points. I wouldn't have thought of such a trade without your email alert---thanks again!

Gap Guy, Played the gap from the dentist office this morning, all from my treo, read the gap guy "today's Gap Play", entered my order with a target and a stop, had my teeth cleaned, then checked the results , ...- best trip to the dentist ever! Thanks again.

Gap,
One of the great value-added features of your site is that in some cases the target is well beyond a simple gap fill. On 1/9, the gap itself was small but your target was several points away. I took it and made ... ES points where normally I would have skipped the trade. The trade also worked because of your advice about using a wide stop that day. On 1/17, I made... again because your target was beyond the simple gap fill price. You provide more than one way to win at this game--good job!
January 17, 2008 | Rock
Scott,
I'm very pleased with my results using your gap guidance. And the site and your services are getting better and better, too. Thanks for putting up your results. Would be good to see actual totals and cumulatives there.
Thanks! I can only imagine how much work you've put in on this.

Gap Guy, your site is a wonderful resource for both new and experienced traders. Trading gaps is a great opportunity to apply a mechanical system and you've done a great job of explaining how you apply your backtesting. I keep learning new things about trading from both your daily blog and also your explanations of how you play the gaps. Thanks for taking the time to develop this site!
